What is a Yulex springsuit and how is it different from a regular wetsuit?

A springsuit is a short-arm, short-leg wetsuit designed for warm water conditions from 18°C (65°F) upward — ideal for spring, summer, and autumn surf and swimming sessions. WALLIEN springsuits are made from Yulex, a natural rubber that is 85% plant-based and FSC certified, with 80% lower CO2 emissions than petroleum neoprene. Unlike standard wetsuits, Yulex is hypoallergenic and has no 'new wetsuit smell'. Every springsuit is cut specifically for the female form.

How do I choose the right wetsuit size?

WALLIEN wetsuits are designed for a performance fit — snug enough to minimise water entry while allowing full freedom of movement. We recommend checking our size guide using your height as the primary guide. If you are between sizes, size up. We offer free exchanges within 30 days if the fit isn't right.

Are WALLIEN wetsuits and swimwear sustainable?

es. Our Horizonia springsuit line is made from Yulex natural rubber — 85% plant-based, FSC certified, and produced with 80% lower CO2 emissions compared to petroleum-based neoprene. Our swimwear is made from recycled Italian fabrics. We are committed to going fully neoprene-free across our range.

What is the difference between the Springsuit and the Springsuit Boyleg

Both are 2mm springsuits for warm water conditions and outdoor use only — not suitable for pool swimming. The Springsuit has a standard cut, while the Springsuit Boyleg features extended thigh coverage for women who prefer more modesty or find standard cuts ride up during swimming. The Boyleg is particularly popular with open water swimmers and triathletes.

Can I wear a WALLIEN swimsuit for both pool and open water swimming?

Yes. The Yemaya One Piece and Liberty Racerback swimsuits are made from chlorine-resistant fabric with UPF 50+ sun protection, making them suitable for both indoor lap swimming and outdoor open water use. They can also be worn as a layering piece under a springsuit for added warmth in cooler conditions.

What water temperature is a springsuit suitable for?

WALLIEN springsuits are designed for water temperatures of 18°C (65°F) and above. For cooler conditions between 14–18°C, consider pairing your springsuit with the Horizonia Yulex Jacket for extra warmth. For cold water below 14°C, a full 3/2mm or 4/3mm wetsuit is recommended.

Are WALLIEN products designed for older women or different body types?

Yes. WALLIEN products are worn by women aged 30 to 68 across all body types. Our Springsuit Boyleg and full-coverage swimwear options are specifically designed with more coverage for women who prefer it. Every product is cut from scratch for the female form — not adapted from men's patterns.

Can I wear a WALLIEN swimsuit for both pool and open water swimming?

What swimwear do you recommend for open water swimming?

For open water swimming we recommend the Yemaya One Piece or the Springsuit Boyleg depending on water temperature. The Yemaya One Piece offers UPF 50+ sun protection and a secure fit that stays in place during open water strokes. For cooler open water conditions from 18°C upward, the Springsuit Boyleg adds warmth while keeping full freedom of movement. For colder open water below 18°C, a full springsuit or wetsuit is the better choice.

Does WALLIEN swimwear stay in place during swimming?

The Yemaya One Piece features a built-in shelf bra and a cut designed to stay secure during active swimming without riding up or shifting.
